Pill Dispenser

This lockable sensor reminds clients when to take pre-measured doses by sounding an alarm. If they miss taking their pills it can trigger the community alarm base unit to alert the care centre, which can then either prompt them or contact a family member or carer to advise them of the situation. There are 28 usable compartments each of which can hold several pills and the dispenser can be programmed for up to four doses per day. They are ideal for use with people who have moderate difficulty managing their medication, and who have family or carers willing and able to load the dispenser as required. Presently there is no widespread agreement with pharmacies to fill the dispensers, although the number willing to do so is on the increase. Boots Pharmacy have an initiative whereby they will refill the equipment for individuals who have that requirement.
